Ladies’ Group

Come along to our Ladies Group at Ryton Methodist Church where we meet fortnightly on a Wednesday afternoon.

The Group was originally called the Wives Group and has been going for over 50 years, firstly at Memorial Church in Crawcrook and then at Ryton when Memorial Church closed.

It’s a very friendly group and has a mix of church ladies and non-church ladies, and provides friendship and for some, their only church encounter.

We have a variety of speakers over the year, some religious and some secular. However, we always start with a hymn and prayer and close with the Grace.

We arrange outings in the Summer and at Christmas for a dinner. We also have a Carol Service.

We pay £2 each session which helps pay for speakers and also allows us to give to charities and to the church for heating etc.
